Designing Titles for Another's Vision

Making opening titles for an already existing work was an interesting experience as I used it as an opportunity to try things I was not familiar with. Using subject matter that calls attention to the somber yet hopeful topic, I needed to make a sequence that was subtle and introduce ideas without takinng awaay from the tone I have to set. This led to the exploration of sound design and telling a story with minimal visuals as I used the sequence to recount the events that led up to the nuclear explosion. I also made an attempt at custom lettering both in English and Japanese that embodied the concept of community and rebuilding as portrayed in the doccumentary.
